This thing called sin

Sin my friend is a dangerous thing -
At first it starts off small and inconspicuous,
If we nurture it and feed it -
It will grow and grow.
If we give it room -
It will spoil our relationship with God and with each other.
Don’t give the devil a foothold,
walk so close to our Lord -
And let nothing spoil our relationship with Him.
Be firmly rooted in the Bible - His word to us,
At the end of a day -
Let us closely examine what we’ve done or said.
For we are ambassadors for Christ.
Sin is like the ivy, it very slowly creeps,
And if it isn’t cut back, it smothers what is underneath,
And what is underneath will be starved of light.
We need to let the light of Christ -
Always shine on us and light our way.
We need to feed on His word and drink of His spirit.
Remembering to walk close to Him day to day.
