MINUTES OF PCC MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 10TH FEBRUARY

MATTERS ARISING
External Notice Board: - Ready for installation
Higher Gifts of the Spirit: - Notice
for congregation -mid-March
AGENDA ITEMS
Finance: -
- Current A/C £5170 All bills paid
- No. 2 A/C £420
- No electricity bills received from British Gas since August.
We are supposedly in credit, but this is doubtful
- New part for heating cost £117.50
- Painting of Chancel cost £74 but only half the paint used
Herald - Suggestions for improvement
of parish newspaper:
- Vary paper colour
- 3 editions of 8 sides rather than 4 editions of 4 sides
- Delivered to 1200 homes rather than 1700
- Content to be improved with more humour where appropriate
- Diamond jubilee issue 8 sides to 1700 homes
- Proposals well received and adopted unanimously
Fair trade Coffee and Tea: - Diocesan
suggestion that churches only use fair trade coffee and tea accepted.
Pledge to use by May 1st.
Springboard Meeting for all Deanery PCCs
- 11th March All Saints Marple at 7.30p.m. Meet at St. Barnabas
at 7.00p.m. to travel together.
Review of Church Outreach Conference (24th
September 2002) - suggestions made at this meeting and now
in action include: -
- Church open 2p.m. - 4p.m. on Wednesdays
- Church available in times of crisis
- Prayer group for the community
- Charity events
- Retired persons events
- Rainbow group formed and involvement with pre-school
There is still a need for more social events and people to organise
them
A.O.B. Book titled The Provocative
Church by Graham Tomlin to be read by all PCC members for
discussion at 6th May PCC meeting. Concerned with Living the
life of Christ in the church as evangelism
